Depuis plus de 20 ans, la marque Pachacuti propose une collection de chapeaux élégants et issus du commerce équitable.
L’artisanat est une valeur importante de la marque ainsi les chapeaux sont fabriqués par des artisans en Equateur. Le tissage des panamas à la mains a d’ailleurs été ajouté à la liste du Patrimoine Culturel Immatériel de l’UNESCO. La marque essaie donc de préserver ce savoir-faire en payant les artisans un salaire vital et leur procurant des formations professionnelles.
Les matières premières utilisées sont sourcées localement, ainsi la paille pour les panama provient de petites exploitations locales.
La marque a reçu la certification de l’Organisation Mondiale du Commerce Équitable.
La créatrice de Pachacuti, Carry Somers est par ailleurs très engagée dans la mode éthique et responsable, elle est notamment à l’origine du « Fashion Revolution« , une association qui organise chaque année les commémoration de la catastrophe du Rana Plaza (24 avril 2013).

Pachacuti has been the specialist of Panama and pioneer of Fair Trade for more than 20 years.
Pachacuti strives to protect the art of weaving Panama which has been added to the list of the Intagible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 2012.
Craftmanship is one of the founding value of the brand, the hats are handcrafted in Ecuador by artisans who are paid a living wage for their work.
The fabrics used for the making of the hats are sourced locally (especially the straw).
The brand received the World Fair Trade Organization certification for its work.
The founder of the brand, Carry Somers, has been commited to ethical fashion for many years and she is the founder of Fashion Revolution, a commemoration of the terrible events of Rana Plaza.
