Avec Veja, la mode éthique prend tout son sens. Depuis 2005, la marque propose une ligne de basket écologiques et éthiques.
Les matières premières sont toutes issues de l’agriculture biologique et/ou du commerce équitable. Ainsi le coton (bio) provient d’une coopérative agricole, le caoutchouc sauvage provient d’une coopérative de seringueiros et le cuir est tanné de façon végétal (sans métaux lourd comme le chrome). Par ailleurs, la marque utilise également du cuir de poisson pour ses collections.
La conception et le sourcing des matériaux se fait entièrement au Brésil.
La production respecte également des valeurs éthiques notamment grâce au travail effectué avec l’association Ateliers Sans Frontières qui s’occupent de la logistique.

Introducing Veja
Ethical fashion never had more sense than with Veja. This brand was founded in 2005 by Sébastien Kopp and Ghislain Morillion.
The collection of sneakers and accessories are entirely sourced and made in Brasil with fabrics that are either organic or from fair trade (or both).
For instance the cotton is organic and is produced in a small cooperative in the north-east of Brasil and the natural rubber is collected in the Amazonian forrest by Seringueiros. The leather used for the collection is vegetable tanned (which means that no heavy metal are used) and Veja also uses fish skin.
The production too is respectful of both the people and the environment. The brand works with a factory in Brasil where over 80% workers are unionised.
The brand is very transparent about how the shoes are produced.
